kagi–horuda:

Wrinkling her nose at his never ending attempt to make her leave. “How can I have fun with others when I know that you are struggling?” Even though he said he will be fine and from what his current situation, lets not forget the bitter smell that was lingering on him from the ale. Thin eyebrows scrunched together. “You hardly—"

She blinked. Did he just say thank you? Smiling softly with warm eyes, seeing that maybe he is finally calming down. Bottom lip slipped behind top teeth, as her once delicate hand that stroked his back pressed harder in between his shoulder blades. She couldn’t tell him what the truth was to his dreams but the words that followed… she couldn’t bare it anymore.

Gripping both his slumped shoulders, pushing him off her so that they were both now sitting up right on the ground as she sat underneath her legs. Shining bright orbs held with determination, stared right back at him. "You are not an idiot! You are far from it.” Shaking his shoulders to get some sense into him.

“Please…” Her head went down with the sad idea of how he thought of himself. “Please stop thinking so little of yourself.”

Her hold became stronger and stern eyes found his again. “There has been such great things about you as a guild master! You are better than this. What happened to the Sting during the attack at the Grand Magic Games— who believed in himself.”

The celestial mage’s heart broke at the thought of his dream. “If you are so determined to find out what your dream is telling you.” Eyes shifting down to his hands, she took them in her own and brought them up between them. “Then I will help you. I am not going to see a friend fall from a something they cannot see. I will be your way." Purposeful eyes, never faltered and she only hoped that if he did not believe the words then when he saw her eyes that he could see the truth that were held in them.

Just what had become of him, really? Not too long ago, he felt like he was on top of the world. Of course, deep down, he knew that was all just an act. An act to cover up his  insecurities and his fear of failing and losing. To cover up the fact is he lost, he feared he’d lose himself and lose his way. Even so, right now he had lost his way and was not certain what road to take. The road he was on was dark and covered by thorns and other obstacles. Every step he took was like he was walking into unknown and new territory–where was he and where was he going? As the new Guild Master he had no idea what he was doing and even if it would benefit people–his comrades.

His dreams didn’t help either and boggled his mind to no end. The more he tried to figure out who the mystery woman was, the more confused he became. The more he felt like a fool and an idiot. All these mixture of emotions was becoming a heavy burden for the dragon slayer to bear. So much, he did not dare to push himself up from where he was.

A gasp left his lips as he was pulled up suddenly and stared straight back into the maiden’s honey orbs. "Lu-Lucy-san…?"  Was all he could utter out, feeling his body tingle from the sudden shift. Lightly he shook his head and looked back at her, stunned as she spoke up against him and hung her head. His marigold irises saddened slightly, "Lucy-san I–"  he cut himself off and turned his gaze away as he continued to listen to her lecture.

Her words struck a chord and his eyes widened upon her strong words, her passionate words. She…was right. What the hell happened to him? Just recently, he was so full of life, and energy and so confident in himself. So much confidence it was overflowing and brimming. Sting Eucliffe was like…..the golden fountain of youth and he was bright and shining like a star. But now…

his light had gone out, however….
it seemed a beautiful Celestial Maiden found him
and showed him the light once again.

                 "you’re right. You’re absolutely right.
Heh, how could I have been so fuckin’ foolish?
I…thought that part of me was gone. I…I don’t know.
I guess, I am afraid. Afraid I won’t be strong enough.
Afraid, that I might not be good enough and my comrades will all…
I can’t bear the thought of failing them, or myself in anyway. But…
My whole fuckin’ life, I’ve been expected to be perfect. And here I am,
in a free and wonderful guild, yet I’m doing it to myself.
                   Ironic, no?”

A bitter laugh cae from him and he sighed as he rubbed back of his head. “Aye aye, I need to stop thinkin’ so much–hic–!"  His words still slurred and he swayed slightly. "Especially when I’m like this…nrgh. Man, I’m exhausted."  Her offer to figure his dream out met his ears, but did not register as his mind was going a mile a minute at that point. A slow smile crossed his features as he turned to her and leaned in close, "we should—hic—go bar hoppin’ Or somethin’ or whatever you wanna do. I don’t care. I am tired of makin’ decisions. Ya make one for once."  He lay his head on her shoulder and inhaled, "Lucy-san….is warm and gentle."  he mumbled and stayed there for several seconds before speaking again, ”…Sorry.“
