kagi–horuda:

A slight weight was lifted off her shoulders, as the the flicker of the true Sting was possibly coming back. Hope was once again flowing through her. The words that she spoke. Oh how she truly hoped that he would listen to her. Just once she wanted to have something turn out right… it was a slim chance but maybe her wish could possibly come true.

Joy was it? Yes. It resonated in her chest and spread throughout her body. Her words reached him! A smile… no it was much more than that. The smile was made up from relief and joy that the boy in front of her from arms length was finally finding himself again. He wasn’t going to be lost in this darkness for long.

All she hoped for was that her decree would be heard and that it would be taken to heart. Not saying how they could heal a person right then and there but maybe just maybe it could spark something. And well go from there. Bringing the dragon slayer close to her in a warm embrace.

“It is okay to be afraid. Everyone has that within them.
That is what makes us human.
Yes. Just remember your comrades who love and respect you.
They will always be there for you, Sting.”

Pulling him away from her and with a bright smile with eyes closed from the happiness that was warming her heart. Though she has messed up in other things, helping a friend was something that she could not fail at.

“And I am here as well.”

A deep sigh escaped passed her lips as she could tell that she was going to lose him soon with the toxic drink. Sometimes there was just things that couldn’t be helped. A leer appeared as he was becoming a different person from the depressed one he was before. Of course the accomplished moment that they had was slowly fading. He might not even remember this the next morning. Ignoring his crude words, she tried to maneuver under his weight.

“Ugh, Sting I think you need to go back home and sleep.” Nose wrinkling as he kept talking about drinking more and she rolled her eyes at his words of what he thought of her. “Hai, hai. Sure Sting,” Patting his back this time and eyes falling down to blonde locks. “And no reason to be sorry.”

His eyes turned from her ashamed he had fallen so far and so deep in front of someone he barely knew. Even still, he felt like he could connect with her, like he’d known her his whole life. Regret flowed through his veins as he thought back to the time he mocked and laughed at her. Oh what a pitiful fool he was. Here he was in a pitiful state and without hesitation, she tended to him and talked to him. Words escaped him and would not pass through his lips. Tears welled up and he tilted his head down and trembled as he listened to her soft, soothing voice. Hearing her comfort him, remind him she was there as well for him.

“…Lucy-san…"  he started and swallowed and lifted his head up, eyes closed and smiling, ”…you are too kind to me….much too kind. I don’t deserve it, but all I can do is move forward, ne~?“   He flashed a bright smile at her and laughed lightly. "Neeeee~ Lucy-san~ We should go do something fun~!"

He did not get a response to his invitation, instead ones of worry and concern. His heart sank and he sighed, unsure how to take her word. Her words of concern reached him and he waved a hand as he pushed himself up. "I’m…fuckin’ fine. I don’t need to. I got work to….do…I’ve…trouble you…en…ough…" Blood rushed to his head, clouding his vision and he slowly felt his body falling forward. Quickly he grabbed a cart nearby, but still stumbled and part of it cut his hand, creating a large gash.

He hissed in pain and turned his eyes from her. "I’ve…" he swallowed, catching his breath, "cannot burden you anymore. You have done enough. I should get back to my guild."  One step and dizziness spread through his body, so he stayed where he was as if he were frozen. Thoughts, images raced through his mind. That woman’s face, his failure a the games, his horrible spirit…all of it meshed together. A hand reached up to his head and he groaned, groaned louder than he meant to and spoke what he had meant to keep to himself. "I can’t…do this…"
